Membership happens at 2 levels within the IIBA®, namely professional membership of the IIBA® itself,
as well as membership of one or more chapters. Each type of membership carries different responsibilities and benefits.
South African IIBA® Chapter.
Chapters are groups of members in a local geographic
region like a city or a country, who are self-organised and whose intention is to provide local value for themselves.
Chapters represent the interests of their members. Successful chapters reflect the enthusiasm, participation and
energy of their members.
Given the dynamism and work ethic of South Africans, one can expect the SA chapters
to be excellent examples of how these communities should operate.

IIBA® Membership
The IIBA® is a global organisation
set up to serve the needs of the professional Business Analyst. The IIBA® controls the BA Body of Knowledge,
and the professional Certifying Exam
™
(CBAP®). Membership of the IIBA® confers a desirable and prestigious status on the member, and states to the
outside world that the member confirms to a professional code of practice, and a community of professionals
that is dedicated to improving the quality of business analysis world wide.
People wishing to join
the IIBA® should do so directly. It is not possible to join the IIBA® via the various chapters, although

IIBA® Corporate Membership
IIBA® has launched a new corporate membership program. The Corporate
Membership Program provides services that help organizations improve their business analysis
practices by using the knowledge and capabilities offered by IIBA®. As part of corporate membership,
IIBA® will conduct an assessment of the organization’s business analysis practices and develop a roadmap
for continuous improvement. Many project failures can be directly attributed to poor requirements gathering
, inadequate business analysis and inappropriate project management. Generally accepted business analysis
